从关联理论角度谈英语双关语的翻译(8100字)
摘  要:关联理论是Dan Sperber 和Deirdre Wilson于1986年在H.P.Grice提出的语用学相关原则的基础上发展起来的，近年来备受瞩目。它从认知角度揭示了人类语言交际是一个认知——推理的互明过程。Wilson的学生Gutt将关联理论应用到翻译领域，并指出翻译是一个对对原语（语内或语际）进行阐释的明示——推理过程，从而建立了关联翻译理论的框架。双关是一种常见修辞格，借由多义词或近音词表达两种或两种以上的意思以达到预计的幽默或修辞效果。本文试图从关联翻译理论的角度，结合案例分析，对双关语翻译进行研究，以更深层次地理解双关这一语言现象和了解其本质，从而使人们更好的运用双关语进行交流。

On Translation of English Puns
from the Perspective of Relevance Theory
Abstract: The Relevance Theory was proposed by Dan Sperber and Deirdre Wilson in 1986, based on H.P.Grice’s Principle of Relevance and has caught a lot of attention lately. The Relevance Theory reveals that verbal communication is ostensive-inferential in nature. Gutt applies Relevance Theory to translation and sets up a new framework for translation，whose main tenet is that translation is interlingual interpretive use．Therefore，according to Gutt，the aim of translation is to make the translated resemble the original closely enough in relevant respects．Pun, as a common figure of speech, suggests two or more meanings by exploiting multiple meanings of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect. This paper aims to analyze puns with case study from the perspective of Relevance Theory and make further study of pun and its nature. Furthermore, it also enables people to make a better use of puns in communication.
